I’ve been on a bit of a baby clothes mission recently. None of Baby Girl’s summer clothes are appropriate for the chillier weather we’ve been having, so I’ve had the perfect excuse to buy some new things. Is it just me or is buying baby clothes one of the fun things about having a baby?!
Anyway, I did a little autumn baby girl clothes haul on my YouTube channel the other day (video below) but wanted to show you one of my favourite pieces in the vlog in a little more detail. It’s an Olive and Moss dress from baby clothing and gift site Little Chickie – and it’s PROPERLY cute.
Up until recently I haven’t tended to put Baby Girl in dresses. When she was teeny weeny they just seemed too fussy – I way prefer newborns in comfy sleepsuits – and then she started crawling, which meant a dress would just get in the way. But now she’s spending more time on her feet, cruising around the furniture and walking with her walker, dresses aren’t so out of the question.
I love everything about this particular dress. I love the bright pops of colour, the slightly retro flower print around the bib area, and the soft jersey fabric it’s made from. I also love that it’s a smock dress, so when Baby Girl gets taller she’ll be able to wear it as more of a top. This is one definite bonus of dresses over other types of clothing – they last longer so you get more for your money.
Along with the photo at the top of this post, I’ve styled it with a pair of Blade and Rose leggings for a fun, colourful look, and a pair of Mamas & Papas skinny jeans twinned with a beautiful cardigan Baby Girl’s grandma made from a Debbie Bliss pattern. (The yellow mocassins were an eBay find which have proved a brilliant purchase.)
Which is your favourite look?
