Next weekend we are going away for a rare weekend just us with no children and while I will miss them I can’t wait as I admit I take him for granted since having children. It sounds like you had such a lovely time together xx

It’s SO SO important to spend time as a couple rather than just two people who live together and have linked life tasks to complete. They say “happy mum, happy baby” but this applies to both parents and all ages of kids – Happy parents, happy kids. So we shouldn’t feel guilty when we have a night away (or 3 as we are doing at the end of the month!) xx

We are very lucky in that we only have one kid, and she stays out overnight once a week. Although we really need to use that time better, last night she stayed out at my sisters house and we did the exact same thing we do when she is at home (watch tv, early night)…

It’s so easy to lose perspective in the hubub of family life, glad you guys got a break for a night. xx
