Advertorial

I’m in list-making hell.

I have list upon list upon list. They’re piling up on my desk, stashed on top of my fridge, shoved into my knicker drawer and lying beside my bed.

We’re soon going off on our jollies, you see. The jollies involve spending a week in Cornwall, in a tent, with a toddler and a camping-phobic husband. Clearly this experience requires the ultimate in planning. So the lists are out in force.

I have lists detailing what food to pack for the journey, what food to buy ahead of the journey and what food to bring for when the journey is over. I have lists of various different items of clothing, categorised into “rubbish weather” and “good weather”. I have lists of places to visit and activities to enjoy (again, categorised into “rubbish weather” and “good weather”). And I have lists reminding me of lists I’m yet to write.

One of those outstanding lists includes the tricky subject of home insurance. Although we have cover, we keep meaning to check out comparethemarket.com and make sure we have the best deal. But, as with all tasks of the administrative variety, we haven’t been very forward with our planning.

If only we could dig deep and bring forth that extra motivation to take on the task. It could make our journey to the west that little less stressful. It could help us avoid yet another argument halfway down the motorway over undrawn curtains and permanently switched on plug sockets.

So if you see me wandering around the supermarket this week muttering to myself, sorting through an array of indecipherable lists, you now know why. Rather than walking on by, do me a favour and remind me to finish that outstanding one.

It’s still not complete yet.

This is an Advertorial post. It was on one of my to-do lists for this evening actually.
