In a blink of an eye, summer is over. Just like that, August has ended and September is here.
Except it’s not just like that. Some of the days themselves stretched out in a sea of crafting, tantrums and stress over juggling deadlines with parenthood.

Playing in the park earlier today, my three year old was hit by a stray tennis ball from a nearby Sunday cricket match. In typical fashion, she sobbed a little louder than she needed to and clutched her chest, screaming in apparent agony. The poor boy who threw the ball was nearly in tears himself.
Being the drama queen that she is, Frog needed a good five minutes to calm down and realise she wasn’t actually injured at all. It was then that I told her a story. A story all about a time when she did actually hurt herself. When her tears weren’t of the crocodile kind.
