It was a sunny day in Cornwall. We stood at the gates of a castle, as we came to the end of a review trip last week.

As I attempted to take a photo on my phone of the beautiful view, I accidentally hit the button that turns the camera round, so you end up staring back at yourself instead of what is in front of you.

I’m not loving the way I look at the moment. It’s something I’ll no doubt blog about soon, but it’s a safe bet that if you scrolled through my recent phone photos you wouldn’t find any of me; it’s all about a cute three year old and an often photo-phobic husband.  Continue reading »

Review

Living in a rented cottage means painting the walls to “make the place our own” is out of the question. But that doesn’t mean we can’t adorn them will all sorts of pretty things.

We have paintings that my grandma and aunt painted, prints from Picasso and Andy Warhol, as well as a lovely painting given to us as a wedding present.

So, it looks like bribery works.

I’ve been shortlisted as a finalist in the MAD Blog Awards 2011. Yes, me. Yours truly. I know, I can’t believe it either.

This ‘ere blog (excuse the excited Bristolian twang emerging there) is among five finalists in the Best MAD Baby Blog category. Perhaps it’s the deceptively cute pictures of Frog that did it. Or the occasional rant about motherhood. Or maybe you felt sorry for me after I wet my pants in public. Whatever it was, I’m very grateful, really I am. Continue reading »

I was going to write all about the joys of being a pop star today.

I say going to because I’m not anymore. That post will have to wait until another day, because I just have to share these amazing photos that my photographer friend emailed me.

They are by a mum in Helsinki. While her baby girl sleeps, she creates these wierd and wonderful fantasy worlds around her, from whatever she can find lying around.

While these photos do make me go aaaaaaaah, I can’t help feeling maybe she has a bit too much time on her hands. Of course, this could just be the inner Competetive Mum in me. Outdone again. Damn.
