My Journey:

Hey there! I’m Molly Archer. Former disco queen turned broadcast news journalist, turned mum, I live in Devon with the (self-proclaimed) Northern Love Machine and our daughters, Frog (born in June 2010) and Baby Girl (born in October 2014).

I like hot cups of tea, cold glasses of wine, pretty cushions, and Salt and Vinegar Kettle Chips. I’m prone to Instagramming all of the above. Oh, and I eat too much cheese.

If you’ve landed on this page, you’re probably curious about the story behind MothersAlwaysRight.com.

Well, it’s a mix of passion, memories, and a deep love for family. As a dad, I’ve had countless incredible moments with my children.

From those quiet mornings watching the sunrise during our camping trips to the loud, messy playtimes in our backyard, every moment felt worth cherishing.

So, I decided to put pen to paper (or rather, fingers to keyboard) and share these experiences.

The Spark Behind It All:

Since having my first daughter, Frog (not her real name – I’m not that mean), I found out I enjoyed writing things other than radio news scripts. I found out creativity needn’t just be about finding the best top line in a breaking news story. I found out writing keeps me sane.

Becoming a mum led to a change in career for me. I used to be a broadcast journalist for a radio station, now I work as a features writer and editor. I earn my crust working from home, blogging, writing for magazines and other websites, making videos and editing the collaborative interiors website.

In June 2013, we packed our bags and moved from our home in rural Berkshire, near London, down to Devon for a change of lifestyle. Currently revamping our first proper home, you can expect to find plenty of posts about my latest interior projects, too.

Clearly, the title of this blog is ironic. I have spent many days of motherhood so far thinking I am never going to know how to “do it”, let alone “do it right”.

But on those days, I just try to remember there is no right way to do it. No “right” way, that is, except my own way.

And if that doesn’t work, I ask my mum. Because if I’m not right, my mum almost always is.

The idea was simple: create a space where I could talk about the adventures and misadventures of parenting.

I wanted to capture the essence of being a playful dad, of those unexpected moments of laughter, the challenges we face, and the pure, unfiltered joy that comes from watching our kids grow and learn.

My Vision Moving Forward:

My hope for MothersAlwaysRight.com is for it to be more than just a blog. I envision it as a haven for parents—a place where you can find comfort in shared experiences, seek advice, or simply enjoy a good story over a cup of coffee.

Parenting is a journey, sometimes smooth, sometimes bumpy, but always memorable. And I believe that by sharing our stories, we can make this journey even more special.
